Data Processing within the GeoCROW Research Project

In accordance with § 2d para. 1 Z 5 lit a of the Research Organization Act (FOG), data processing within the GeoCROW project is carried out on the basis of § 2d para. 2 FOG.

The GeoCROW system processes only news items from carefully selected sources that specialize in reporting. Similarly, for the inclusion of social media content, only such sources are used. The selection of sources is performed manually and is based on their practical and substantive relevance to the respective research scenario.

The processing of personal data is not generally intended within the project. However, since selected sources may contain personal data, such processing cannot be categorically excluded in individual cases.
